Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was a kid she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. In a school play and the stage of a Stagecoach production, Emma was as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). This film was 2001's highest grossing film, breaking records at the opening as well as the first weekend. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five prizes for her work in the film, winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a feature Film.
